Renegade Game Studios is promising to take fantasy role playing to a new “brightly-colored” setting with its new game Overlight, expected to release in 2018.

Created by Paul Alexander Butler and George Holland, Overlight will not feature many elements that are common to the majority of fantasy role playing settings. Co-creator Butler described the philosophy behind the setting in a press release: “We want to return a sense of wonder to fantasy roleplaying. Elves and Dwarves and Orcs are great, but we’ve seen them done countless times, and we want to take players someplace they haven’t been before.”
