Panini Press Hobby Newsletter - May 2010

Wednesday May 05, 2010

Dear Hobby Retailer,

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Panini Press. This monthly newsletter is just one of the many ways we are working harder to help hobby shops succeed. We hope that by providing you this accurate and timely information, you will be more informed about Panini products and better able to serve your customers.

Each month, the Panini Press will be delivered into your Inbox with the latest news and information about our products, promotions and special offers. We hope you will spend a few minutes reading it. You should also keep an eye out for Panini Press News Blasts with breaking news and announcements that are just too important to wait until the next issue.

The Panini Press will also be interactive. It will give you a private forum to share your thoughts with us on a variety of important issues. We will also conduct monthly contests exclusively for hobby retailers.

Thanks for your support of Panini, we hope you find the Panini Press a valuable tool to help you become a better informed hobby retailer. Be sure to clear this address with your spam filters to make sure you get the newsletter every month.

Mike Anderson - VP, Sales and Marketing

On Monday, April 12, at the Sports Collectibles Industry Summit in Las Vegas we announced several important changes as to how Panini products will be sold to distributors, retailers and online merchants. The primary goal of these new policies is to help address how internet sales are negatively effecting brick-and-mortar retailers and key buyer relationships.

The three main changes will include: Re-authorization of hobby shops who buy direct; streamlining of our distribution network; and a clear distinction between distributors, wholesalers and retailers including more stringent guidelines on selling Panini products.

We turned a blind eye toward these things, because, honestly, we had to. Under Panini ownership, we work for a CEO (Mark Warsop) who is allowing us to do what should have been done 10 years ago. We are well structured, well financed and committed to implementing changes to help brick-and-mortar stores as much as possible.

We will announce more details shortly.
