Upper Deck Reveals Wrapper Redemption Plans for Fast Approaching NHL Fall Expo!

Excitement builds as autographed cards of 2010 No. 1 draft pick Taylor Hall will be part of ‘Priority Signings’ Lineup!

Carlsbad, CA, Monday November 01, 2010

Hockey fans and collectors from across the globe will descend upon the Toronto International Centre on November 12, 13 and 14 to take part in the annual NHL Fall Expo, one of the industry’s largest hockey-focused collectibles show. And once again, Upper Deck – the league’s co-exclusive hockey card producer – will be there to satisfy the collecting habits of thousands of hockey aficionados with its popular “Priority Signings” Wrapper Redemption Program.

Collectors who open one sealed box of either Upper Deck’s 2010-11 NHL Artifacts or Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey product at the Upper Deck booth will receive an exclusive 2010 “Priority Signings” autograph card. There will be a limit of one redemption card per person, per day, while supplies last. All card packs must be opened at the Upper Deck booth in front of a company representative.

The schedule for the wrapper redemption hours is listed below:

Friday, Nov. 12 – 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 13 – 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 14 – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A total of 29 different NHL players, past and present, comprise Upper Deck’s 2010 Priority Signings autograph card list. Some of the biggest names in the game are part of the autograph redemption card lineup including legends like Phil Esposito, Gordie Howe, Stan Mikita, Steve Yzerman, Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky, as well as up-and-comers like Toronto Maple Leafs’ center Nazem Kadri and 2010 No. 1 overall draft pick Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers. All of the redemption cards will be hand-numbered, so the chase will be fast and furious. What’s more, even rarer parallel versions featuring the tops stars with a different image will create an additional chase. Players like Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Orr, Howe and Gretzky will have extremely limited parallel cards in the set.

“Collectors covet autograph cards, especially hand-numbered ones, so that’s why our ‘Priority Signings’ program continues to resonate with hockey fans at this show,” said Josh Zusman, Upper Deck’s Hockey brand manager. “Additionally, Upper Deck’s 2010-11 Series One Hockey launch hits store shelves at the same time as the show, so boxes and packs of that should be flying as collectors look to get the first rookie cards of from this season’s top young guns.”

Upper Deck will also be hosting a variety of giveaways at the booth throughout the weekend and company representatives will be available to answer questions about the 2010-11 NHL sets the company will be producing. Upper Deck will also be hosting a special collectors’ roundtable on Saturday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. To sign up to take part in this event, please e-mail us at UpperDeckMarketing@upperdeck.com with a note as to why you would like to attend this event. Spots are limited so if you will be at the event, e-mail us as soon as possible before all the spots are taken.
